This policy explains what Good Marketer Inc. ("we", "us") collects when you use goodmarketer.ca, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. We wrote it in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email us and a human will explain.
The short version: we collect the URL you scan and the report we generate from it, plus your email if you choose to send us your report. We don't run ad trackers, we don't sell data, and we delete your data when you ask.
What we collect
- The website you scan. When you submit a URL we crawl that site's public pages and store the resulting report (scores, findings, page metadata) so your dashboard link keeps working.
- Contact details you give us. If you use the "Want us to take it from here?" form on your report, we store your name, email, budget range and the description you enter (along with the report itself) so we can reply with a plan.
- Basic technical logs. Like nearly every website, our servers record IP addresses and timestamps for security and rate limiting (for example, capping how many scans one visitor can run per day).
What we do with it
- Generate and show you your SEO report.
- Reply to you when you ask for help with your site.
- Keep the free scanner from being abused.
- Improve our checks by looking at aggregate, non-identifying patterns.
What we will never do
- Sell or rent your data to anyone.
- Run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
- Email you marketing you didn't ask for. You email us first, always.
- Share your report with anyone but you, unless you send it to us yourself.
Where your data lives
Scan reports are stored on our own infrastructure. Our audit engine is built from scratch and reads public sources directly (your live site, Common Crawl's open web data, Google autocomplete and our own self-hosted Lighthouse), so your URL is not passed to third-party SEO data brokers.
When you choose to send us your report with the "Want us to take it from here?" form, that submission (your name, email, budget, description and report) is delivered to our inbox through Web3Forms, a third-party form service, purely so we receive it. We don't use any other outside processors for your data.
Deleting your data
Removing a scan card from your dashboard unloads it from your browser. If you want the underlying report or any contact request permanently deleted from our servers, email hello@goodmarketer.ca from the relevant address and we'll confirm deletion within 7 days.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and explain the change in plain English right here.
